This newsletter won’t be similar to the previous ones.

This newsletter is a byproduct of yesterday’s conversation with the Blabla car driver.

The conversation with the BlaBla Car driver was so surreal that sometimes I think secret agencies set me up for this type of conversation to manipulate my further flow of thoughts and actions.

I am already obsessed with the idea of network state, popup cities, and individual sovereignty, and this felt like adding fuel to the fire.

I was so intrigued that I couldn’t help myself from diving deep into the idea of building a sovereign nation.

I kept digging into the rabbit hole so deep that at this moment, I am one click away from buying an E-residency for the Free Republic of Liberland.

The Goal for the rest of my time in Serbia:

  • Get Liberland Residency

  • Register Company there

  • Get in touch with leaders

  • Visit Country Physically

  • Meet community

Probably by now, you ask yourself: “What the f**k is the Liberland, Angela?”

So, let me explain.

History

The Free Republic of Liberland is a sovereign state located between Croatia and Serbia on the west bank of the Danube River. On some maps, this area is referred to as “Gornja Siga”. The nearest towns are Zmajevac (Croatia) and Bački Monoštor ( Serbia)

This parcel of land came into existence due to a border dispute between Croatia and Serbia. This area is not claimed by Croatia, Serbia, nor any other nation or private entity. Furthermore, it remained unclaimed since the dissolution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991. In fact, for many decades, it has been uninhabited and no claim was ever made to this piece of land.

It was therefore terra nullius – a no man’s land – until Vít Jedlička and Jana Markovicova proclaimed it as the Free Republic of Liberland on 13 April 2015. The total area is approximately 7 km² and is now the third smallest sovereign state, after the Vatican and Monaco. - their website

Vit, the president of Liberland, got really, REALLY rich from being an early investor in Bitcoin. He loved the idea of decentralization, borderless transactions, and individual sovereignty. I mean, obviously, he was a believer since he hold assets through all the turbulence the crypto market went through in their infancy years.

But having a lot of money suddenly means increased responsibilities toward government. The more money you make, the more you have to pay the government.

And Vit, sitting with a lot of crypto hands-on and a lot of taxes to be paid off, figured out he didn’t want to put up with all this BS that social artificial structure like the government enforced us doing.

So he decided to start his own country.

Country where all constitutions, government, ID issuance, payments, and voting systems will be on the blockchain. The country that works on a merit-based system. You are not obligated to pay taxes, but if you do, you earn more merit than somebody who didn’t pay any.

The Vit, with the rest of the Libertarians, experienced fierce rejection from the Croatian authorities. At one point, the Croatian police came with excavators and bulldozers and destroyed all that was built on the small land.

Getting to the Island is almost impossible since Serbian and Croatian police guard both coasts and have police boats check all boats passing nearby.

Many famous travel bloggers visited the Liberland and recorded content on this topic.

You can check it out here:

There are 854 Liberland citizens now and 723,660 citizen requests at the moment.

And what do you get when you mix Blakan, innovation adoption, and tax incentives?

It begs the question, when and will the Free Republic of Liberland become the 198th nation in the world?

I did my homework, and if I made the proper judgment on Vladit, Liberland will become a prosperous country. Vladit has money, is well connected, and, most importantly, understands how things get done in Balkan.

He is creating a movement many crypto people want to be part of, support, and stand for. Also, all this is happening at the right time, when the innovation revolution meets geopolitical tectonical movements.

The country will survive and grow more prominent, creating a lifestyle movement of network states and no-tax crypto-native countries where you take part as a resident based on your ideology, not nationality.

The states, governments, and school systems won’t exist in the future in the shape and form we know it today. Technology is transforming the world rapidly, and the most significant opportunity for innovative disruption lies in the most inefficient systems - the states, governments, and school systems.

I am kind of embarrassed not knowing that the representation of everything that I was dreaming about was on the verge of my finger.

Well, it’s time to act on it.

No time to waste.

Go Liberty!
