Should I feel guilty if I blow money on a vacation at a resort in Thailand when people just hours away are starving?

I shouldn't.

Feeling bad spending money on things that refill my mind, energy, and soul satisfaction is impractical. It is valuable to reflect and learn about yourself and the life around you by questioning your spending impulses. But it’s useless killing yourself mentally doubting your existence.

I am the beauty leading forward, interacting with the best of the best.

The huge velocity of money, intellect, and attention surrounds me daily.

To create something from nothing, you need boundless drive and channeled energy. I should never regret spending money on rest.

To move the mountain, I must recharge.

I deserve to rest.

To feed my body.

And my soul.

Even when you look at it from a math perspective, the ROI of me spending on my rest is higher than the average person donating the same amount of money.

Maybe I spent 10k on extended weekend camping, but I built 10mil more after that. My brain rest, new ideas arise, and execution is efficient. If I just gave away 10k and kept working, miracles would be wasted.

I play on a large scale. I must rest even when I want to keep grinding. I look at rest differently now. I rest because I owe to people who need my help. I rest so I can be of higher value to them.

I find no regret in the money spent on my rest and the people dear to me.

I find no shame in recharging.

I am a top-level player.

I deserve a top-level rest.

I know when to slow down, set back, take charge, and lead.

I know I want the best for people.

I love them endlessly, and I wish them all the best.

I hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Types of rest:

  • solitude

  • nature walks

  • outdoor activities

  • time with family & friends

  • horse riding

A couple of thoughts on rest and leisure from other people:

Rest Is Not Laziness: It's essential to differentiate between taking a break and being lazy. Rest is strategic, it's about recharging and allowing your body and mind to recuperate. Laziness is a lack of action or effort where it's needed. - The Tonic Newsletter

They (top leaders) rest a lot given that the key to domain dominant performances is regularly scheduled recovery periods.- Robin Sharma

Do Nothing: This practice, also known as "La Dolce Far Niente", encourages us to deliberately create periods of idleness in our day. It's during these moments of quiet that we can recharge, reflect, and connect with our inner selves. - unknown

"Doing nothing often leads to the very best of something." - Winnie The Pooh

A leader is a doer…but that doesn’t mean they’re always doing. In fact, if a leader is always doing, chances are they’ll end up doing the wrong thing. Because they haven’t taken enough time to think and study, question and prepare. - The Daily Stoic

Thank you for reading my mind musings.

I hope they are interesting to you.

I love you all, really.
